Applications will only be considered from applicants where membership is open to the public at large.

Applications from national or regional charities will only be considered where the project and beneficiaries clearly fall within the area of benefit.
Applications received from Local Authorities and Government Agencies will not be considered.

For more information, please see our 'What We Fund’ page.

What can my organisation apply for?

Other than in exceptional/special circumstances no single grant will exceed a figure of £10,000

Over the years GF has received a number of applications that have been quite creative on how a capital fund can help improve or deliver new leisure or recreation facilities. These range from reconditioning cricket nets to allow junior teams to practice and improve their skills to polytunnels in community gardens for local groups to grow plants and produce all year round.

Grants are to be regarded as one-off payments towards specific capital projects, with revenue items including at least a medium-term life. Applications for monies to assist with recurring annual expenditures will in normal circumstances be rejected.

Whilst promotion of sport is not of itself a charitable purpose it becomes charitable if the promotion is for the benefit of the public at large and in particular for children and the disabled.
